The Wigston Tasmanian Devil is a hybrid style lure commonly employed for trolling applications when targeting pelagic species of fish. The Tasmanian Devil consists of a hollow weighted lead torpedo core that is surrounded by a plastic molding that includes two carved wings. The lure includes a wire loop and treble hook that can be easily pulled out of the core. The neat thing about the lure's appearance is that the colors or pattern are actually encased inside the plastic surface and therefore resists any wear and tear by obstructions. The Tasmanian Devil displays a unique rocking motion attracting predatory fish of many species to strike. While the lure is most commonly used for trolling applications, anglers can also cast and retrieve the lure with success. The lure will emit a constant pulse as it is retrieved through the water, whether trolled or cast. The pulsing action offers both attraction and also serves to indicated a fish has struck or the lure is fouled in some manner. When trolling you can use the Tasmanian Devil on its own or pair it with additional trolling attractors. Because the lure is constructed over a free axis the line will never twist even when trolled at a high rate of speed. The lure's free axis design is also quite an advantage when fighting fish. No longer can the hooked fish use the weight of the lure to help dislodge the hook - the weight of the Tasmanian Devil will slide up the line and therefore not assist in the fish's attempts to free itself. We offer the Wigston Lures Tasmanian Devil in the 13.5 gram size which is roughly 1/2oz and measures 2" in length.
