VMC Gliding Jig
The VMC Gliding Jig is an entirely new style of jig head that's best described as a spoon/jig hybrid that creates incredible action for any bait you thread onto it. Ok, before you write this jig head off because it looks kinda odd, take a minute and watch the video below - you'll be amazed. The VMC Gliding Jig is intended to be used as a jig head for plastics of all types including: flukes, swimbaits, worms and creatures among others. The best way to describe the use of the Gliding Jig is to not describe it at all and just show you - see the video below - but for the purpose of the product descriptions we'll try. If you've ever seen the flutter of a leaf falling from a tree as it descends to the ground, it shakes and shimmies a bit as the extended surface area catches air. The Gliding Jig has a very similar action - it flutters as it descends through water causing any attached plastic to exhibit the same action.
When you fish the VMC Gliding Jig you'll want to let bait fall on slack line allowing it to realize it's full action. As many anglers are aware, fish seem to bite most often as a lure if falling to the bottom; a reaction triggered by a number of instinctual habits. With this jig, you're not just going to have a simple fall, the entire way to the bottom the plastic will shake just begging nearby fish to come take a look. In addition to the action on the fall, the jig will also display a similar shimmy when retrieving it in causing any plastic to embody a swimming motion whether it is design to or not.
The VMC Gliding Jig can be fished with or without plastic for just about any species of fish on the planet - freshwater, saltwater - all predatory species will relate to the action that is similar to many types of forage. The jig is constructed without lead and includes a fine double hook bait keeper.
Types of Gliding Jig
The VMC Gliding Jig comes in two different models - an Oklahoma or Willow style. The Oklahoma blade is intended for deeper water because it displays a shorter, less concave or flatter bend to it that enables it to sink a little bit quicker. Alternatively, the Willow style is for shallower water because it sinks just a bit slower and remains higher in water column as you retrieve it.
We offer the VMC Gliding Jig in two models: Oklahoma and Willow in two sizes of each: 1/8oz and 3/16oz. All models built around a 1/0 wide gap hook. Quantity: 2pk.
