Strike King Premier Spinnerbait Blades
The Strike King Premier Spinnerbait Blades are a must have accessory for anglers who often use spinnerbaits. For the most part spinnerbaits come right out of the package ready to fish, but serious anglers know there are some necessary modifications that need to be made. Adding a trailer hook is almost always a must, but only the top anglers seem to consider their spinnerbait blades. The size of the blade dictates the amount of pull the spinnerbait has in the water - different situations call for different blade sizes. When fishing shallow cover an angler may choose to increase the blade size to impart more drag on the spinnerbait and therefore keep it in the strike zone longer on a slow retrieve. Deeper water calls for a reduction in the blade size for quicker rate of fall and also less resistance on the retrieve. The choice between blade color should also be considered. Instead of constantly switching out spinnerbaits, an easier modification would be simply changing the blade color when conditions call for a switch. Conventional wisdom suggests gold for low light and nickel for direct sunlight conditions, but anglers should experiment on their own to find what works best for them.
With the recent emergence of the Alabama Rig, anglers fishing in states with regulations on the number of hooks permitted have sought a solution. Attaching spinnerbait blades to two of the wires is a quick and easy way to comply with such regulations. We suggest using the size 4 blades in most cases, but the bigger sizes may be more advantageous for some conditions. The spinnerbait blades come in three sizes: 4, 4.5, & 5 (4 being the smallest - 5 the largest). The blades are offered in gold or nickel colors and come 3 per pack.
