The Shimano Pop Orca is a saltwater topwater lure that mimics the action and appearance of the most prominent saltwater forage fish as they break the water's surface to escape from pelagic predators. Riding the success of the standard Orca lure, the Pop Orca utilizes an "open mouth" design to deliver more commotion atop the water to mimic fleeing baitfish. Shimano's saltwater popper showcases a realistic baitfish action that darts and pops chugging water through it's open chamber to create bubbles and spray leaving a trail for the visually feeding fish to follow.
The Pop ORCA is the latest edition to the ORCA family of Shimano lures. This new popper features a unique design with an open mouth based on a jet engine. Using this concept low pressure is turned into high pressure and feeds water into the new Bubble Chamber. It also makes the Pop Orca much easier to work than conventional poppers. The Bubble Chamber consists of a round and square port on the top of the lure. Water can spray out of the top, or create a large bubble trail when pulled subsurface. You can fish the Shimano Pop Orca in three different ways. Steady reeling, small sweeps for popping/chugging, or large sweeps to make it go below the surface. All create a large surface commotion drawing violent strikes.
Complimenting the lure's addicting action are high quality, vibrant color patterns that reflect light and draw the attention of any nearby predator. Once you've got their attention with the bubble popping action, fish will have no choice to strike what appears to be a forage fish recklessly skittering across the surface. Just imagine the blowups the Pop Orca is going to generate from when retrieved through schools of albacore, yellowfin and other species of baitfish following saltwater gamefish.
We offer the Shimano Pop Orca in two sizes: 120mm and 150mm in seven awesome colors. Note: 120 size features treble hooks and 150 size utilizes single hooks.
