Shimano Caenan 150 Reels

For anglers who know the fishing advantages when using a baitcasting reel, especially those who enjoy competitive bass fishing, Shimano offers its new Caenan 150 casting reels. With noted Shimano durability and reliability, three low-profile design are available – the Caenan 150, left-hand retrieve 151 and higher-gear 150HG.

With a sleek and aggressive appearance, the all-new Shimano Caenan casting reels feature a redesigned High Efficiency Gear (HEG) system delivering exceptional strength and rigidity for years of reliable fishing. The Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D) combined with a new Variable Brake System (VBS) provides outstanding casting performance with a wide range of lures and baits. Shimano's Caenan series redefines performance and value in low profile baitcasting reels.

We offer the Shimano Caenan 150 Reels in three models: CAE150 (6.3:1 RH), CAE151 (6.3:1 LH) and CAE150HG (7.2:1 RH). Line Capacity: 10lb/120yd.

Caenan 150 Series Reel Technology:

HEG - High Efficiency Gear

HEG consists of not only the gears, but also the frame, setplate, and handle-side sideplate. First we increased the size of the drive gear and the pinion gear to offer increased leverage and power. By using a one-piece frame that incorporates the setplate and adding a one-piece stamped sideplate, we have eliminated flex in the drive train that causes gears to bind under pressure.

S3D - Shimano Stable Spool Design

Shimano’s S3D technology leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. By designing a balanced and uniform thin wall aluminum constructed spool, S3D creates an incredibly smooth feeling when casting and retrieving lures.

VBS - Variable Brake System

VBS uses centrifugal force rather than magnets to aid in controlling the cast. When turned on, the individual brake weights are forced outward at the beginning of the cast when backlashes most often occur, causing friction that reduces the speed of the spool. Once the spool speed begins to slow, the pressure with which the brake weights contact the raceway lessens, allowing the spool to continue spinning.
