Shelton Products FBR Rigged

Each package of Shelton's FBR Rigged baitholder head comes with a bead chain swivel attached with 30lb mono. Then the line extends into the head and through the adjustable custom sleeve (it allows for the hook to be at the back of different baits sizes) and is terminated to a barbed siwash hook. CA anglers need to smash barb down. This baitholder head is perfect for ocean salmon, trolling for halibut off the bottom and Delta stripers have been know to eat an FBR as well.

3 of 5 good and bad November 8, 2019
Reviewer: chris from berlin
I would say this is the best ocean trolling salmon lure I have used for chinooks. A friend turned me on to them during our last nook tournament a week ago. I usually swap out to use my hooks but the siwash looked like good quality. However it was barbed so I had to pinch it down which took considerable force. I was sitting 4th out of 176 rods and on the last day  I saw  a big hog following up a smaller one my partner had on. I casted out my diver and fbr and he took it. He doubled my rod and did 3 big head shakes and then my line went limp. The hook broke right at the barb where I had crimped it. I should have known better so I am not complaining but just putting out a caveat for any serious fishermen not wanting to put on the proper no barb hooks and re-heatshrink the tube due to the hassle. Personally I will not use those tubes anymore. Also I put a small dodger in front to give the lure slight action.

5 of 5 Great Product! April 29, 2019

Got my salmon limit two days ago using this.  My two friends using same bait on the same boat at the same time, but different heads had no hookups.
One of the reviews here said that the 2018 material is brittle.  I hope not!  Been using the one I have for several seasons without any problems.

5 of 5 FBR rigged April 8, 2019

Already a proven product in my bk. Used these often for trolling kings near shore. They give a nice tight roll making them an easier target resulting in more hk ups. Now that I can get the heads only (2 pk) I will snell a 5/0 octopus hk and lose the somewhat bulky adjustable line sleeve that sits behind the head. I figured out how to omit the sleeve without risking the hk moving and potemtially ripping the bait. Pin the head as usual, then using magic thread or small rubber band, simply wrap 2 half hitches in the line on the body of the bait once hk is positioned flush w tail or just slightly behind and those 2 half hitches plus the head pin will guarantee the hk does not slide fwd. Now you dont have that bulky sleeve possibly spooking your fish. A cleaner presentation Im looking fwd to trying this season.

4 of 5 What happened to FBRs August 12, 2018
Reviewer: Mike G. from Quincy, CA United States
I have been using FBRs since they originally came out.  For us, it has been out most productive salmon lure.  What I have noticed lately is the material they are constructed with is much harder and, I guess the word would be, brittle.  On our last trip bringing larger salmon on board in a net ended up breaking a wing off three different FBRs, with all being on brand new lures (first fish caught on each).  Not good.  We started being more careful and removed the lure while the fish was in suspended in the net.  Wish this wasn't the case, but it won't keep me from using FBRs moving forward.
