Sage 4200 Fly Reels is a series of fly fishing reels designed for both fresh and saltwater applications. The 4200 series reels, from Sage, brings a sophisticated, high-performance drag system. The one-revolution drag knob offers quick and precise drag settings and provides the kind of power and smoothness you'd expect from a large traditional drag system, only without the bulk or weight. Utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing, the Sage 4200 Series reel is designed with a commitment to quality and performance that isa hallmark of all Sage products. The Sage 4200 Series reels are anodized and made from aerospace grade aluminum. Strong yet lightweight, they are built for a lifetime of smooth, problem free performance. The reels feature a sealed drag unit that incorporates a unique carbon disc system, which offers extremely smooth and reliable operation. The drag utilizes a numbered, repeatable adjustment knob for consistent operation in all conditions. The 4200 Series reels feature a curved large-arbor design for maximum line capacity, faster line retrieve, more consistent drag and reduced line coiling. This design also adds strength and rigidity while reducing weight. On a traditional small-arbor reel, the drag increases as the diameter of the line on the spool decreases. This increased drag can sometimes break off fish or snap light tippets. Since the diameter does not change significantly when line is removed from a large-arbor reel, accordingly the drag does not change significantly. The one revolution drag knob enables quick, accurate setting whether it is decreasing drag for stripping or increasing pressure for fighting fish. We offer the Sage 4200 Series Fly Reels in 4 models: 4230 Bronze, 4250 Bronze, 4250 Black and 4260 Black. For more detailed information on each model please consult the technical specs tab.
