Ryugi Tantrum Control Flipping Hook
Developed as an alternative to the thin hook point models, the Ryugi Tantrum Control Flipping Hook, instead opts for a less fine hook point that will not bend when it catches obstructions such as grass or wood. Making a hook that's less sharp than others may seem counter-intuitive, and really it is, but for Ryugi traditional beliefs never drive their designs. While the hook point itself is incredibly sharp, the point is not as thin as the surgically sharpened variety. The reason is because the designers at Ryugi saw too many hook points bend, break or become dull from things other than fish. Their solution comes to life in the Tantrum Control Flipping Hook.
When you're flipping, you're already using thick line, heavy weights and stiff rods - the amount of force you need to pierce the fish's jaw is truly minimal - even more so if using spectra line. However, hooks with super fine points made of lighter wire are a complete oxymoron to the technique. Ryugi's Tantrum Control Flipping Hooks utilize what they refer to as an obtuse angle instead and allow the TC coating to serve its purpose and aid the hook's penetration through the jaw of bass. Another unique trait found in the Tantrum Control Flipping hooks is the curved shank - this was implemented in order to create more of a fulcrum with the weight when tied with a snell knot. Essentially, when the hook is set, the weight will press down on the eye and the hook will come up horizontally.
We offer the Ryugi Tantrum Control Flipping Hook in three sizes: 3/0 - 5/0. Quantity: 4pk
About Ryugi Hooks
Ryugi, a relatively new company from Japan, set out to create the very best bass fishing hooks on the market by questioning each and every aspect of hook design. The result is a lineup of hooks that include options such as drop shot, flipping, treble and wacky hooks. Each one of their hooks is teflon coated for increased hook penetration and a more dull appearance in the water. Ryugi hooks are incredibly strong and sharp and will prove to be a great addition to the arsenal of any series bass fisherman.
