Designed by Larry Dahlberg, the River2Sea Saltwater Whopper Plopper is an innovative topwater buzzing lure that creates a subtle water disturbance as it is retrieved. The saltwater version of the Whopper Plopper retains the excellent tail rolling action of the original, but it is rattle free and comes stock with 4x strong tin treble hooks. The Whopper Plopper can generally be fished with two different techniques, the first being crawled on top for skittish game fish in shallow water. Speed it up as the wind rises, and it throws water with a distinct "whopping" sound that rings the dinner bell for all hungry predators in the vicinity, from trout and reds to snook and other inshore species.
Because it casts a mile, the Saltwater Whopper Plopper is great for covering large areas and flats. And because it works at such a wide range of speeds, it's ideal for nailing down the most productive speed and rhythm on any given day. Like the original Whopper Plopper, the Saltwater version sports a flexible tail that's tuned right out of the box—and stays tuned forever. Rigged with River2Sea 4X strong tin trebles.
The River2Sea Saltwater Whopper Plopper measures 5" in length and weighs 1 3/8oz . It is a silent bait and comes rigged with (2) 4X strong tin #2 treble hooks.
