Revenge Swim Jigs
Constructed with the precision and quality Revenge Baits is known for, the Swim Jig adds another bait to the arsenal of bass fishermen. Despite being a mainstay of many old school bass fishermen, Swim jigs have become increasingly popular in recent years with more anglers experimenting with the technique. While Alabama bass fishermen would probably balk at the notion of the swim jig being a new phenomenon, the recent upgrades and design improvements of swim jigs have made them a more country-wide lure with seemingly endless possibilities for use. The Revenge Swim Jigs feature the ubiquitous head design Revenge is famous for - all of their jig heads display a level of anatomical accuracy typically not found in jigs. While many companies go with a plain jig head, and they are still very effective, Revenge understands sometimes that little extra detail may make the difference or at the very least instill confidence in the angler that they are using the most realistic imitation available.
Constructed around a 5/0 28-degree Mustad Ultrapoint hook, the Revenge Swim Jig delivers the hook solid penetration that's often difficult to achieve with swim jigs. A very strong hook with the proper angle for the technique. As you inspect the jig head, you'll notice the recesses line tie that protects your line from becoming frayed or damaged - it also keeps the knot from gathering slime as anglers retrieve it through cover. The Revenge Swim Jig features the ideal head shape for swimming through all types of obstructions from grass to wood and everything in between. The light weedguard is sufficient for keeping the jig from becoming snagged up and won't inhibit the hook point. Obviously, the level of realism and colors are absolutely premium, what else would you expect from Revenge.
Anglers often ask how to use a swim jig and the response really depends on a number of variables. The simple answer is a swim jig should be used like a spinnerbait or chatterbait in that it should be retrieved in and around cover with a steady retrieval rate, however, the details are always the most important aspect of any technique. Unlike spinnerbaits or chatterbaits, the swim jig can be much more weedless and be fished through a far greater spectrum of structure. The swim jig can be fished from just a few inches of water to very deep water depending on the weight of the swim jig. Many bass fishermen impart hops and pops of the rod as they retrieve the swim jig through shallow water of 0-6 feet around grass, reeds and lilly pads to simulate bluegill or craws. This application often involves a retrieve right below the waters surface. When fishing shallow anglers can choose to use a trailer that imitates crawfish or a small swimbait that is great to mimic bluegill. On the other side of the spectrum, heavier models of the Revenge Swim Jigs - 1/2oz & 3/4oz - can be fished out on deep structure such as rockpiles, ledges or humps. When fishing out deep, most fishermen prefer a big swimbait trailer as it moves a ton of water and demands the attention of any nearby bass. This application is largely a straight, slow retrieve that relies upon the kicking of the swimbait to attract strikes.
We offer the Revenge Baits Swim Jig in four sizes: 1/4oz, 3/8oz, 1/2oz and 3/4oz in many excellent colors.
