Rago Bluegill Line Through Swimbait
The Bluegill Line Through Swimbait is a soft plastic bluegill style swimbait designed to mimic the small panfish species bass often feed upon. This bluegill swimbait, from Jerry Rago, is constructed using a line through or inline design which is rigged with the line thread through the baits body and tied to the included treble hook. Line through swimbaits are widely considered more effective at keeping bass hooked once they strike because the bait cannot be used as leverage - the hook stays in place while the bait slides up the line. Exhibiting an incredibly realistic design, Jerry Rago's Bluegill is a functional work of art. Anatomically correct fins and natural color patterns are greatly complemented by the swimbait's life like swimming action. When this bait was designed, Rago intended for anglers to fish it much like a lipless crankbait. That means you should absolutely fish it around vegetation, which, sounds pretty logical considering bluegill are often found hanging on the outside edges of weedlines. Once the bluegill spawn picks up mid may - early june it's time to go shallow and reel the bait right across their small shell beds where you'll encounter vicious strikes from giant bluegill eating bass. Each bait includes the appropriately sized Owner treble hook which is the only hook you'll need on this bait. The Rago Baits Bluegill Line Through Swimbait is 4.5" in length and weighs approximately 1 3/4oz.
