Powell Inferno Casting Rods

Featuring high modulus blanks and micro guides, the Powell Inferno Casting Rods are a series of bass fishing rods offering high level of performance at a great value. Comprised of 10 rods, the Inferno Casting series covers the entire spectrum of bass fishing techniques including models for jigs and plastics, crankbaits, flipping, frogs and swimbaits. These rods are crafted from a 36-ton version of Powell's legendary Maxumfiber material with an added “Mini Matrix” for scorching strength and precision. The Mini Matrix utilizes tube-shaped carbon molecules 50,000 times smaller than a human hair, which are held together in a coagulated resin, not an inferior powder. The result is a totally smooth finish with all inconsistencies eliminated. Inferno rods also include Pac Bay Minima reel seats and we have upgraded to Fuji Concept guides on all models. These rods have been rigorously battle tested to withstand the harshest tournament conditions on planet earth. This combination of value and technology is truly unrivaled. Now that’s hot!

We offer the Powell Inferno Casting Rods in all 10 models including (3) Glass/Composite crankbait rods.

Inferno Rods Appearance

These rods not only perform great, but look great too. Each rod features a matte black finish, with a burnt orange “Armor Coat” flame pattern lighting up the logo area. We chose Pacific Bay SS304 semi micro guides for their excellent performance, low weight, and extreme corrosion resistance. The guides are locked into place using black main wraps with silver trim and a bit of burnt orange tipping. Comfortable Pacific Bay Minima reel seats reduce weight and amplify blank feel, while premium split cork grips with a bit of black EVA foam trim provides all day comfort.

Inferno Rods Warranty

Powell stands firmly behind each and every Inferno Micro rod with a strong warranty guarantee. For just $30.00, you can take advantage of an easy warranty/processing program with just that small exchange fee regardless of how the rod breaks. With a potent combination of looks, performance, and value, whats not to love?

Powell Inferno Casting Rod Models

Inferno 683 MH CEF - Longer rods have gained a lot more popularity in recent years, but short models can offer solid advantages in some situations. Additionally, some folks simply just prefer em’. Whatever the reason may be, the Inferno 683 CEF fills the void. Carrying a 3-power rating, this model is supremely versatile and the shorter length makes it supremely accurate, too!

6104 CB Glass/Composite - Topwaters, crankbaits, and rip baits are right up the alley of the 6104 CB. The moderate fast action allows just enough “give” to fish these baits perfectly without being too soft for effective hook setting. With a length of 6'10” and rated up to 3/4 ounce lures, this 4 power stick will easily handle most common-sized hard baits at short to medium distances. If you dream about cranking rip rap on the California Delta or throwing poppers on Toledo Bend, it's time to wake up and grab yourself a 6104 CB!

705 CB Glass/Composite - Getting the itch to do some heavier duty cranking? The Inferno 705 CB should grab your attention. This composite 7 foot, 5 power crankbait rod features the silky smooth moderate fast action you want, but is shockingly light in weight. Rated up to 7/8 ounce, it's perfect for medium and some deep divers, as well as a multitude of lip-less and square bill crankbaits. That lovely forgiveness you can only get from a composite blank lets you fish these baits with supreme efficiency, and keeps that 5lber hung all the way back to the boat.

703 CEF - Everyone needs at least 1 all around rod on board. You know, a rod that can handle everything from a jig to a spinnerbait. If this is the type of stick you're after, you can put the brakes on right here because the 703 CEF has your name on it. With a length of 7 feet and rated up to 3/4 ounce lures, this hot shot will handle a wide range of everyday baits around light to modest cover. On many bodies of water, a few of these strapped to the deck might just be all you'll ever need!

704 CEF - A bit beefier version of our 703 CEF, this 4 power rod will handle heavier baits weighing up to 1 ounce. This is an excellent choice as an all-around worm and jig rod, but it also works great for heavy spinnerbaits, some frogging, and smaller swimbaits. We gave this stick an extra fast action for authoritative hook setting power, even at a long distance. With capabilities of fishing up to 20lb line, you can confidently fish this rod in and around some thicker cover and still easily haul out Mr. Bass.

725 CFMH - Heading to Falcon Lake soon and need to fill a void in your rod locker? Pay close attention. This stout stick will handle medium to heavy duty applications, and pull big Bass away from cover with authority. Jigs to frogs, it gets the job done. It's a serious rod for serious Bassin. Leave the finesse tackle at home!

734 CF - Don't let the slightly softer fast action fool you here. This rod has all the muscle you'll ever need, with just a bit more forgiving of a tip than our extra fast rods. At an “in between” length of 7'3”, the 734 CF will be a perfect compromise for many anglers. Rated up to 20lb line and 1 ounce lures, it has many of the same capabilities as our 704 CEF, just with the added benefit of slightly more length for added casting range and line control. A superstar when it comes to jig and worm fishing, this amazing rod will astound you with it's versatility. From Super Spooks, to big spinnerbaits, and even some frogging, you can't afford to leave the dock without one of these. The Bass likely wouldn't mind, though!

755 CB Glass/Composite - If you love crankbait fishing, you’ll fall head over heels for this hottie. The 755 CB is a composite rod crafted for the serious hardbait angler. With a 7-foot 5-inch length and just the right blend of power and flex, it excels at fishing deep divers and large lip-less baits all day long.

765 CEF - Delta rats, are you paying attention? Toho regulars, are you reading this? The Inferno 765 CEF is one hot stick, geared towards heavy duty applications where thicker cover is the norm. This rod is ready and willing to be fished around heavy cover, and will easily pull out a hefty bucketmouth. Not just a heavy cover tool, don't overlook this bad boy for fishing offshore with beastly spinnerbaits, and the biggest jigs and worms on the market. The long 7'6” length coupled with the extra fast action means hook sets from extreme distances are accomplished without drama.

Inferno 765 SBR MMH CF UTILITY - Here’s a very well-rounded stick for lighter swimbait duties... “lighter” being a relative term in the world of swimbaiting, of course! This rod will handle everything from soft to hard baits up to 3 ounces in weight, and works well with big topwaters like the Black Dog Lunker Punker. Though it possesses head-turning power, the moderate-fast action and forgiving tip makes it easy to fish baits at the lower end of the rod’s range.

I have purchased 3 of the glass/composite models and all have performed well above expectation. Very light rod with good balance. Paired them up with Quantum EXO reels and I have a setup barely weighing 10oz.
