Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rods

Using a connection design utilized in Europe for many years, the Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rods seek to offer the most performance and easy transport of any travel rods on the market today. It's never easy to travel with fishing rods; we all know the feeling. You end up choosing between the lesser of two evils, pack up your rods and risk having them get damaged or lost on the way or use a travel rod that lacks in performance. Well, Okuma may have just found another solution with their Nomad Inshore Travel Rods - a series of 3 piece fishing rods that have bridged the gap between ease of transport and fishability. To be fair, the travel rod market has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 3 years with companies investing more time and energy in perfecting their offerings in this niche.

The Nomad Inshore Travel Rods alleviate all the concerns anglers have about travel rods. First and foremost, Okuma went back to the drawing board when engineering their connection points. They evaluated a number of successful European lines of multi-piece rods and found a connection process that would increase sensitivity and feel to that of single piece models. Utilizing a European spigot ferrule connection, the Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rods deliver the performance of one piece rods in a very manageable, three piece design. Another key ingredient in the rods performance is the durable graphite blank with carbon outer wrap. This strong, rigid material heightens sensitivity immensely. These rods use premium ALPS components including guides, anodized aluminum reel seats and machined aluminum trigger reel seat on casting models.

Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rods

While the impressive list of components is worth noting, the coolest part about the Nomad Inshore Travel Rods is the additional tip section included with each model. Okuma realized that most anglers traveling were limited to only one or two rods which confined the user to very few applications. As a solution, Okuma includes another tip section with each of these rods. For example, the 703M/MH includes both a medium action tip and a medium heavy. Now anglers can simply swap out the tip section in favor of the more suitable one when applications necessitate it.

We offer the Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rods in four models - 2 Casting & 2 Spinning. All rods are 7' - 3 piece rods and include an additional tip section. Rods come in padded, waterproof travel bag with shoulder strap.

About Spigot Ferrule Connection

The Okuma Nomad Travel series of rods utilizes a European Spigot Ferrule connection for joining the pieces of the rod. This type of connection offers a feel more similar to a 1-piece rod, because the ferrule joints go further into the blank. It also offers improved strength and durability. Itís important to note that the blank that is being inserted in most cases will not go completely inside the joining piece. This is completely normal and will have no effect on the rods performance.
