Mustad KVD Treble Hook
Elite Series Round Bend Treble TR58NP-BN
The Mustad KVD Elite Series Hooks are a line of treble hooks designed by the world's greatest bass angler, Kevin Van Dam. Mustad worked closely with KVD to create an entire series of replacement treble hooks that would meet the needs of any treble hook bait. Whether it be crankbaits, topwaters or jerkbaits, there is a suitable replacement treble hook for any anglers' needs. This version is the round bend version, in contrast to the other hooks of the KVD series which feature the triple grip design. The KVD Round Bend Trebles possess a standard shank length and wire diameter. When comparing the choice between the treble hook options, this would be the one that offers the most universal usage. The round bend trebles can be used for jerkbaits, topwaters, crankbaits and swimbaits. The lighter wire of the round bend hook won't inhibit the action of the precise jerkbaits such as the Megabass Vision 110 or the Lucky Craft Pointers where even the slightest alteration may result in unfavorable action. We offer the Mustad KVD Elite Series Round Treble Hooks in five sizes: 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 each pack contains 11 hooks.
Why Round Bend Trebles?
This new treble hook is well-balanced and perfectly proportioned with the right wire diameter and shank length for many applications. It was developed at the request of Mustad Pro-Staffers, including Denny Brauer, who felt round bend trebles were critical for certain baits. “I’m a big fan of this treble design for bigger, diving crank baits,” noted Denny. “It doesn’t compromise lure action and for folks who prefer a round bend treble, it doesn’t get any better than this.”
Mustad KVD Round Bend Treble Features
- Hook Bend - The round bend of the hook is designed to keep the hook point more open and away from the shank. The round bend vs triple grip choice is largely preference; many anglers believe the round bend is better suited for specific baits and techniques.
- Hook Points - The hook points are super sharp and face parallel to the hook shank, while the triple grips face inward towards the shank.
- Optimal Use - The round bend hooks are really universal. The preference between the triple grip or round bend has a lot to do with the anglers specific needs.
