Megabass Orochi XX F5-711XXG Launcher
Christened the “Launcher” by Aaron Martens after his first cast on Lake Biwa, the Megabass Orochi F5-711XXG is a casting rod designed with the backbone and action necessary to power bombing casts and complete control. Every added foot of casting distance translates into increased depth and/or time in the target zone, allowing you to get the most out of your medium and deep-diving crankbaits. However, casting is only half the battle: featuring a carbon/glass composite blank with a fast action, the Orochi F5-711XXG Launcher quickly loads for maximum power and control for sweeping hooksets and tough fights with deep monsters. Perhaps it is simplest to think of of the Launcher as a deep-cranking rod with a glass tip for improved hookups and that familiar tip-vibration feel, combined with the power and backbone of carbon to supercharge casts and exert maximum control. The Megabass Orochi XX Launcher is a rod ideally suited for deep-diving cranks like the Deep-X 300 and Deep-Six, and can even handle larger ultra-deep plugs. Lastly, the Launcher features an offset handle design for optimal mobility, whereby the blank can be separated from the handle assembly for storage and transport.
The Megabass Orochi XX F5-711XXG is a carbon/fiberglass composite blank that allows the rod to load up better and is really effective when fishing big, deep diving crankbaits.Important Note: The Launcher has a two-piece blank that was designed for easier transport and storage. It uses the ferrule style connection in the handle of the rod.

About Orochi XX Series
Inspired by the Orochi, the ancient dragon god of water, the Orochi XX series seeks to capture the raw power and control of its namesake through Megabass’ cutting-edge multi-axis blank manufacturing process, and an uncompromising eye for quality.
Crafted of super low-resin carbon up to the 40-ton grade, the materials of each Orochi blank are custom matched to the rod’s intended application. Each blank features a vertical-axis carbon core wrapped with a 2-axis XX-Micro Carbon layer, followed by an additional vertical-axis carbon layer.
Each blank is then finished off with a 4-axis carbon wrap that goes from the butt section to the mid-section, for a total of 6-axis. Since carbon material is strongest along its axis, this unique manufacturing process adds significant strength to combat blank twist and improve overall structural integrity—all without adding unnecessary weight.
Each Orochi XX is purpose-built for tournaments, and the Megabass craftsmen know that a single cast can make all the difference. Each rod has a carefully selected range of tangle-free Fuji KWSG, KR-H, and Fuji small caliber Alconite guides for smooth casting and increased sensitivity; Fuji reel seats; Megabass custom ITO Head Locking Reel Seat (PAT.); a rubber/cork composite end cap to protect against fierce hook sets; and lastly, that fit and finish you can only expect from Megabass.
