The Megabass Diving Flap Slap is a hybrid hardbait featuring characteristics of both a crankbait and jerkbait, designed to mimic shad and other baitfish species. The Diving Flap Slap produces a high pitch rolling action creating a super-fast flicker which has never seen before. Engineered with Megabass internal Shaft Balancer System, the Diving Flap Slap is designed to right itself and return to a stable upright position no matter how fast or slow it is retrieved. Anglers can burn and twitch the lure to capture the swimming motions of frantic shad and time after time the lure will return to center allowing it to constantly be at the ready for a strike. The polygon shaped lip on Diving Flap Slap catches the point of obstacles, blocking off with the flapping action, meanwhile the wide side body creates intensive flashing to trigger reaction bites. The Diving Flap Slap displays a unique rolling action that rocks side to side upon retrieve creating flash as it reflects light all the while tempting bass with Megabass detailed finishes. Essentially, the Diving Flap Slap is a shad imitator that really gives the power to the angler to determine the best way to match the hatch at the body of water they are fishing. Is it a shad die off where a twitch, twitch pause retrieve is best or a shad spawn where the bait is frantically rolling along the shore just waiting to be devoured.
The Diving Flap Slap will work in a variety of situations, but some of the most ideal are around rocky banks, riprap, and over submerged grass beds. Water visibilities of 1 to 5 ft. and water temps from 40 to 90 degrees have proven particularly effective for the Diving Flap Slap. The Diving Flap Slap will run about 5 to 7 ft. deep, and is best fished on fluorocarbon line in lb tests from 10 to 20lbs, depending upon the desired depth and cover type to be fished.
The Megabass Diving Flap Slap measures 3" in length and weighs 3/8oz with a diving depth of up to 7ft.
