Hopkins Shorty Spoon

The Hopkins Shorty Spoon is a spoon style lure that mimics the action and appearance of a dying shad. Hopkins® Lures are favorites with countless fishermen, from coast to coast, for both fresh and salt-water fishing. Les Hopkins’ basic design makes them ideal under many fishing conditions and for most species of fish. They are perfect as casting lures, their weight and shape give the caster added distance and exciting water action on recovery. They are highly productive trolling lures . . . at all depths. And they are amazingly effective as jigging lures and for ice fishing . . . bottom feeding fish react as though the lure is alive. The spooning technique yields best results when bass are feeding upon shad. Simply locate the schools of shad and drop the spoon down vertically. Once the spoon has reached the bottom, present the bait with quick pumps upward of the rod tip and follow the lure back down throughout its decent. Most strikes will occur as it slowly falls. We offer the Hopkins Shorty Spoon in four sizes: 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, and 1oz in chrome, chrome w/ bucktail and gold.

Time to glue your eyes to the graph and jig up some bass. This spoon gets down quick and lets you drop it right on their nose. Be sure to let it fall on slack line after each pump.  Find the bait, find the fish.

This is a classic spoon! I always have one hidden in the boat. I've caught lake trout, spotted bass, and even river salmon on these spoons. You cant beat these spoons.
