Gene Larew Biffle Bug
The Biffle Bug from Gene Larew Lures is a soft plastic creature style bait that adopted its name from Elite Series professional angler Tommy Biffle. Biffle, who is regarded as one of the top "flippers" in the country, designed the bait to be the "do-all" creature bait. After countless Top-10 finishes and a handful of wins using this bait for the traditional flipping method, Tommy Biffle turned the bass fishing world upside down by creating his own technique for this very bait. The technique employed an independently moving football sinker that Biffle retrieved in the same manner he would a crankbait. The legs of the Biffle bug proved to be the key to his success due to their kicking action that was produced by the boot tail design. The combination of the Biffle Bug and the Gene Larew Biffle Hardhead is a proven winner and a technique every angler should try. The Gene Larew Biffle Bug is offered in three sizes: 3.5", 4.25" and 5". The 3.5" and 4.25" come 8 per pack, and the 5" size comes 6 per pack.
Rigged on the Biffle Hard Head, the Biffle Bug transforms into an entirely different lure altogether. The hard head's free moving jointed design creates an action similar in many ways to a crankbait, but remains weedless and possesses more tail action that is far more natural. Additionally, the jointed head affords anglers the ability to fish the presentation through all types of cover banging the head off rocks and sticks while the trailing plastic swings independently. The image to the right shows the complete "Biffle-Buggin" rig. Note: the hard heads are sold separately..
