Gambler Ace - 5"
The Ace is a soft plastic stick bait exhibiting an ambiguous appearance that mimics a wide array of forage species bass feed upon. While the Senko is certainly the original stick bait with unbelievable success that all others seek to replicate, the Gambler Ace is a strong alternative that offers a slightly quicker fall and an erratic action. High salt content is largely responsible for this action and one of the reasons the Gamber Ace is a favorite among price conscious bass anglers. The Ace can be fished with any number of rigging methods from finesse techniques to flipping and pitching around reeds and docks. As is the case with all stickbaits, the appearance of this plastic more closely resembles a sharpie marker than anything actually living - which, is in fact, the secret to its success. Anglers can fish the Gambler Ace when trying to replicate craws, shad, bluegill, baby bass and any other forage bass may have available to them. The action is largely dictated by the applications and rigging method used.
Of the numerous rigging methods suitable for the Gambler Ace, a few are especially effective for this stickbait:
- Weightless T-Rig - Of all the possibilities, stick baits are at their best when they are Texas rigged without the addition of a weight. The natural density of the plastic, shape of the worm and salt content combine to create a wiggle that is unparalleled by any other category of plastic. The bait will descend slowly, all the while wiggling back and forth seductively. The slow fall almost teases fish into striking as they are face to face with an easy meal and often can't resist. When rigging without a weight the Gambler ace can be fished in open water, flipped around reeds, skipped under docks or pitched around trees.
- Wacky Rig - Wacky rigging involves threading the hook through the dead center of the Ace. The resulting action is a dual kick from each side of the plastic that looks something like a dying or injured baitfish. It's also thought the movement of the bait displaces water and appeals to the lateral line of bass. We recommend using a circle hook or one of the many specialty wacky rig hooks we offer.
The Gambler Ace measures 5" in length and comes 8 per pack in the most popular colors. This stickbait is quite the value at only $3.99 per pack.
