Deps Buzzjet Jr.

The Deps Buzzjet Jr. is hybrid topwater lure that combines concepts from a number of lures to create a complete unique, and highly effective, bass fishing tool. Each component of the Buzzjet Jr. was selected by the designers from Deps to deliver a different dimension to the bait, but careful consideration was taken to make sure they could all work in harmony. The result is a multi-faceted topwater lure that bass can't resist and anglers can't get enough of. The lure derives its name, the Buzzjet Jr., from the tail prop, which creates a jet trail like wake in its path. It simulates the bubbles trail small baitfish leave when the pop the surface of the water in their attempt to escape predators below. Interestingly, the Buzzjet Jr. can be fished atop the surface or slightly subsurface like a wake bait. Should you wish to fish it on top, the bait can be worked like a spook - with a side to side walk the dog action that sachets left to right with a seductive cadence. As the Buzzjet darts across the surface, the internal rattles shake around emitting a discernible sound just daring big bass to strike. Working the lure below the surface with a steady retrieve presents an action most accurately described as a wakebait. Diving just below the surface, the Buzzjet Jr. displaces water and leaves a nice v shaped wake trail in its path.

The Deps Buzzjet Jr. measures in at 3" in length and weighs about 1/2oz - which is an inch shorter and 1/2oz lighter than the standard Buzzjet. The bait casts a mile and affords anglers the ability to accurately present their lure near recently or currently boiling fish. Utilizing a steady retrieve, anglers can expect the lure to dive to roughly 4 inches. We currently offer the Deps Buzzjet Jr. in the Blue Gill color.

Buzzjet Jr. Description from Deps

The Buzzjet Jr.'s ability to attract fish from far distances is bar none. At 3 inches long and at a weight of 1/2oz the plugís voluminous round profile appeals as an easy meal to lurking predators. The Buzzjet Jr., designed to be fished as a wake bait, has many unique features that sets it apart from the rest. The shape of the lip is constructed so the tip portion faces straight down, thus pushing greater amounts of water outwards around the bait creating a more distinct surface wake. The weight transfer system features 4 stainless balls that are strategically placed in a chamber rolling both front to back and left to right. This provides for great casting ability, unique sounds, and also an irregular side to side action on the retrieve. To create even more water splash and raucous on the water the designers added an original prop that rotates in an offset noisy manner. The Buzzjet Jr.'s ability to catch fish was soon realized by the Japanese anglers and in 2004 was voted as Japanís number 1 hard plug by Japanís Lure Magazines readers.

Commotion, Commotion, and some more Commotion. Deps Buzzjet Jr Action

Toss the Buzzjet Jr. out, hold the rod at about 10 o`clock and watch and listen to the bait work itself back to the boat. What exactly is taking place you ask yourself? The bait is wobbling, rolling, and spitting out water. The bottom line, it`s creating a lot of commotion on the surface and below the bait that MONSTER bass just can`t resist. Go ahead and toss one out!

Why the Prop? Deps Buzzjet Jr Topwater

Decide for yourself what exactly the prop adds to the Buzzjet Jr. As the bait swims, the offcenter cut blade continuously throws water up behind the bait causing boiling commotion. As it turns, it constantly hits the back hook eye producing a high pitched sound.

An unbalanced weight transfer system?? Deps Buzzjet Jr Lure

The weight transfer system moves both back to front on the cast and side to side on the retrieve. This makes for great castability and also a wide erratic wobble and roll.
