Handcrafted in Georgia, the Bull Shad Bull Gill Swimbaits are slow sinking hardbaits designed to mimic different types of panfish bass feed upon. Originally just producing the shad and herring profile baits, Mike Bucca of Bull Shad Swimbaits has branched out and created this limited edition blue gill imitation to meet the demands of anglers all over the country. The 6" Bull Gill displays the same unrefined, exquisitely detailed hand carved finish as the original shad and offers the same realistic snakey action. Instead of a super realistic imitation of a super clean and healthy bluegill, the Bull Gill resembles a beat up or dying bluegill that’s led a hard life to get where it is today – tied to the end of your line waiting to be devoured.
When you first pickup a Bull Gill Swimbait, you'll notice the bait to have a little bit of a rough finish as mentioned above. The exterior has a dimpled texture pattern that mimics the fish’s scales and each bait comes with oversized,fish-like, 3-D eyes. Paint jobs on these baits are rather simple with a seemingly quick little airbrush appliqué of color on the top and sides of each bait – just enough to give each bait a flash of hue in the water. It is this no-nonsense, beat-up appearance that makes this bait so endearing. It is so rough that it’s artful and the fact it’s made to this degree of abuse simply by chance makes it all the more perfect. High quality components are used throughout including: The Slow Sinking Bull Gill Swimbaits sink at about a half foot per second. Most anglers prefer to fish it with some type of pause and jerk cadence that allows the joints to really work their magic.
