Bill Lewis StutterStep

Drawing design inspiration from a tiger-fish lure, the Bill Lewis StutterStep is a topwater lure that delivers some of the most exciting action bass fishermen have ever seen. With a shape that resembles a banana with a tail, the StutterStep doesn't look like anything you'd expect to catch fish with, that is, until you see it in the water. On a straight retrieve, the StutterStep will wake side to side like a baitfish scurrying away from a predator. Because of the lure's buoyancy, anglers can stop the bait at any time allowing chasing fish to get a good hard look at the awesome colors of the fleeing meal.

Bill Lewis Lures was most excited to show how the StutterStep can turn a full 90 degrees sideways while walking or twitching the lure. With just a few pops the bait turns to the side and remains next to a key piece of cover. A few little twitches of the rod's tip and it gets the bait displacing water like an injured or dying forage fish. Our favorite aspect about the Bill Lewis StutterStep was the amount of water the lure can cover while still having an awesome action. Walk the dog topwater baits are so much fun to catch fish with, but they do take a lot of time to retrieve and honestly they can wear you down quickly due to the angler imparted action. The StutterStep makes it's own action and any extra movements you wish to add are just icing on the cake.

The Bill Lewis StutterStep measures 5" in length and weighs 1oz.

Great Action! December 10, 2016

This bait has great action and really is easy to work. It does not take much practice to learn how to use this bait. It can almost spin on a dime and displaces lots of water. It will get the attention of bass.

New StutterStep October 17, 2016

Took this new topwater bait to Oroville last weekend for a club tourney.  Didn't catch any fish with it, but I love the action compared to a spook.  This thing dances on the water.  Can't wait to try it on fisheries that hold bigger fish!

A little bigger than I expected. But overall good action, would like to see a smaller version.

StutterStep October 2, 2016

I have thrown this bait for about 3 weeks on Table Rock Lake. The bait is one of the easiest I have ever used to walk the dog. It is also vesertal as a swim bait as it has a great s motion when reeled at a steady pause. I have yet to catch a big bass on it but I have caught several in the 2-4 lb range. I am sure this spring this bait will shine on our Ozarks lakes.
