Spiderwire Stealth Braided Line
Braided Fishing Line
The Spiderwire Stealth Braid is a braided super line designed for fishing applications that necessitate the use of braided fishing line. Stealth braided line from Spiderwire is among the most durable braided line on the market today. Braided fishing line is chosen by anglers when desiring a low stretch, strong line for very specific techniques. Bass fishing techniques that often use braided line include: Frog fishing, flipping, topwater, umbrella rigs and as a backing on a spinning reel for finesse applications.
Spiderwire Stealth Braid has monofilament manageability and body, but has the ultra thin diameter, superior strength, and ultimate sensitivity that you are looking for in a premium braided line. Due to it's Teflon treated micro-fibers, it's super quiet, it flies through the guides giving you an even longer cast, and it won't cut into your rod guides. Stealth holds it's color better than the competition, and it's round shape reduces backlashes and resists digging-in on reels. With Spiderwire, nothing gets away! We offer the Spidewire Stealth Braided Line in five sizes: 10, 30, 50, 65 and 80lb test in the green color. This is the 125yd spool of braided line.
What Size Braid to Use?
Frog fishing is one of the most popular braided line techniques in all of bass fishing. The frog technique is often paired with 50 or 65lb braided line due to the nature of the vegetation the bass are hiding in.
Flipping & Punching
Flipping and punching are two techniques which anglers often prefer the attributes of braided line over its fluorocarbon counterpart. When flipping or punching most anglers choose 65lb braided line, however, some will increase that to 80lb when punching the heaviest matted vegetation such as hyacinth.
When fishing topwater lures, anglers will find braided line quite beneficial due to its buoyant nature. Braided line floats and enables the angler to realize the topwater lures full potential. When using topwater lures braided line from 30-80lb will suffice. Typically, 65 or 80lb braid is reserved for bigger topwater lures such as pencil poppers, buzzbaits or topwater swimbaits.
Finesse fishing seems to contradict the benefits of braided fishing line, however, with the addition of a fluorocarbon leader anglers will experience the best of both line types. Braided line has a much smaller diameter than fluorocarbon resulting in more line on the spool. Additionally, the low stretch of braided line increases sensitivity for the anglers which will be fully experienced when fishing a bait in deeper water - the line actually transmits the bite and is more easily recognized. Cost effectiveness also comes into play when uses a braided main line for finesse applications. The highest quality fluorocarbon lines can be very expensive and unfortunately, require changing quite often due to their brittle nature. The use of a braided main line with a fluorocarbon leader offers the angler a much greater lifespan on a spool of high quality fluorocarbon line. The braided main line need only be changed once in a blue moon due to its incredible durability. When using braided line in this manner most anglers prefer 10lb braided line.
