The Dummy Heads from Picasso Lures are designed to attach "dummy" baits to Alabama and Umbrella rigs in order to comply with state laws limiting the number of hooks allowed. The Alabama Rig craze continues to be wildly popular all over the country from California to Maine - while Alabama allows anglers to use 5 hooks at a time, some states have laws that limit the number of hooks allowed on one lure. Anglers in those states have come up with innovative methods of rigging their umbrella rigs, for the most part, those efforts have been rewarded with big bass. The key to the entire Alabama rig success is the lure's ability to mimic an entire school of baitfish - something about this causes a all-out feeding frenzy among bass. With that in mind, its of the utmost importance to attach a bait to all five wires. Picasso's Dummy Head Jigs make it much easier to comply with the state laws but still satisfy the desire to present a full school of bait. The Dummy Head Jigs are more or less swimbait jig heads without the hook attached. In place of the hook, the head has a small coil which enables anglers to easily attach their swimbaits and keep them in place (a dab of superglue against the head will prove even more effective). Additionally, the dummy head jigs help keep rigs balanced for better casting and more level retrieval. We offer the Picasso Lures Dummy Heads in two sizes: Medium and Large in 5 different weights: 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 and 3/8oz and two color jig heads: plain or shad.
