The Luhr Jensen Sinker Release is a tool used when trolling out deep for salmon. The Sinker Release from Luhr Jensen is designed to help get trolling plugs down to the level of the fish without the use of downriggers or diving planers with the use of heavy lead weights. The Sinker Release is engineered to release the weight when a fish strikes leaving the angler fighting only the fish. Anglers have the sinker release to be effective when using weights from 4oz to 24oz. This method is often used by charter boats in order to keep lines from tangling with each other. We offer three models of the Luhr Jensen Sinker Release: 001 (1-2lb tension release), 002 (3-4lb tension release) and 003 (5-7lb tension release).
