Champion Xtreme &
Champion Series Rods.

Every Dobyns Rod will perform at the very highest levels. Within both the Champion Extreme and Champion Series, the rod guides, reel seats and detail work is exactly the same. Any fishing rod worth fishing has to have quality components.

The blank materials and handle cork used within the Champion Xtreme and Champion Series blanks are the areas of differentiation between the rods. Champion Series rods use high quality graphite and composites within different rod models to optimize the desired action from the rods. Crankbait and swimbait rods require very different material characteristics to perform at an optimum level than do worm and jig rods.

Champion Extreme rods are all “feel” rods, where sensitivity is of major importance. To produce the finest fishing rods made, Champion Extreme rods are made entirely of the highest modulus graphite available that still retains the structural integrity to be functional in a fishing rod. And completing the premium nature of the rods, all cork is Grade A.

Balance
The importance of rod balance cannot be overstated. A tip-heavy rod causes multiple problems. It not only causes fatigue, but also requires a firmer grip on the rod than should be necessary. A death grip on a rod dramatically reduces feel.
A Dobyns rod is balanced. The tips in jig, drop shot, and other techniques where the rod is fished elevated, are light as air. You’ll hold the rod with a minimal grip that heightens sensitivity and comfort. Crankbait and swimbait rods that are fished tip down are balanced to fish at that angle, and when in position, fish with absolute ease and minimal effort.
A Balancing Sleeve finely tunes each rod. It’s visible as the woven carbon fiber material beneath the rod graphics. It’s not paint. It’s not for effect (the fact they look cool is a bonus). It counter-balances the slight tip weight that is just a fact of life in rods of these lengths.

Fuji Components
Dobyns Champion and Champion Extreme rods are outfitted with the highest quality Fuji reel seats and Fuji™ Concept Guide System with Alconite guides. Nothing compares in terms of comfort and reliability. Reels stay put and the seats don’t strip over time.
The Fuji Concept Guide System, which features many more guides than traditional systems, reduces line slap on the blank, increases casting distance and accuracy, and provides better balance on the blanks. The Alconite guides are the finest available, as the most lightweight and durable in the system.

Grips
Dobyns rod designs feature cork split grips, full cork rear grips and Hypalon grips based upon which handle type provides the greatest amount of comfort within the techniques the rod was designed for. In all cases the handle tapers are ergonomically designed for all-day comfort.

Locking Wraps
Utilizing a custom rod feature, all single foot guides are secured using locking wraps. Within the wrapping process, turns of thread are taken around the guide frame and tied in as the wraps are completed. With this technique, there's no opportunity for a guide to slide forward and out of the wraps, a common problem that's especially prevalent when fishing braided lines.

Hook Keepers
An errant line contacting a standard hook keeper can scuff or flat out cut a line. A custom design solved that problem. Elongated and low profile in nature, the Dobyns design cannot foul a line. And even better, the open-ended spinning rod design holds both hooks and drop shot weights equally well.

Detail
Crafting the very finest bass fishing rods made includes finishing the job. Trim bands and detail are overlooked by most manufacturers. On a Dobyns rod, trim bands on all guides and custom aluminum winding checks mean we respect your eye for detail and appreciation of quality throughout the rod.

Also as part of our commitment to detail, every Dobyns Rod is splined prior to guide placement. The spline, or spine, on a rod is the most powerful portion of the blank, due to how materials are wrapped. A properly splined rod will remain straight, even under intense pressure. An inferior rod, not splined, will tend to roll sideways under pressure, gravitating toward the spline, which is not only annoying and uncomfortable, but places undue stress on the blank.

Lifetime
Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner. Please present your sales receipt or proof of purchase when making your warranty claim. Ship the complete damaged rod in a disposable container, prepaid and insured, directly to:

Please include a brief message explaining the problem with the rod, your return address, daytime phone number and a check or money order in the amount of $20 to cover return shipping and handling. If the return shipping destination is other than the United States or Canada, the actual return shipping cost will be assessed.

If the problem is due to a defect in materials or workmanship, the rod will be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible. If the problem is due to an unfortunate accident, misuse, alteration or normal wear and tear, we will advise you of the cost of the repair or replacement and await your approval prior to proceeding. Should we decide to replace the rod but no longer offer that model, we will replace it with the closest comparable model from our current product line.

This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the rod and does not cover consequential damages due to the failure of the rod unless they are sp ecifically included under various state laws.

If you need to get a replacement rod immediately for that fishing trip tomorrow, simply take the damaged rod to your local Dobyns Rods Dealer and pay them a $50 replacement fee. They will keep your damaged rod and give you a new, same model rod, in return. No questions asked, no shipping, no waiting or wondering about warranty claim charges. This replacement is dependent on the dealer having inventory of your damaged rod model and their willingness to participate
in this program.
